YouTube names most popular videos of 2022

The video hosting site YouTube published a list of the most popular videos of 2022. On the first place was a video message from the 23-year-old video blogger Technoblade (real name is Alex), who died of cancer, to his audience.

Technoblade, known primarily for his streamers in the game Minecraft, died June 30, 2022. A message to his subscribers after the blogger's death was read by his father. "If I had another 100 lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time, as those were the happiest years of my life," Alex was quoted as saying by his father. At the moment of writing this news, the video has over 87 million views.

The second place is taken by the video clip from the Oscar ceremony, where actor Will Smith punches in the face of host Chris Rock for an inappropriate joke about his wife. In third place was a clip from a Minecraft streamer nicknamed Dream, who revealed his identity and showed his face for the first time in 2022.
