ArmInfo. The U.S. Embassy in Armenia has released a video message by Philip Reeker, Senior Advisor on Caucasus Negotiations.
This is his second visit to Armenia after taking office, he said and
pointed out that he continues to be impressed by Armenia's commitment
to common democratic values despite the challenges the country is
facing.
"This commitment represents the future of Armenia and the entire
South Caucasus. I am grateful for the important and productive
meetings I had with the government members, particularly Prime
Minister Pashinyan, Foreign Minister Mirzoyan, as well as civil
society representatives and other stakeholders here in Yerevan. I had
similar meetings at the beginning of the week in Baku, as well as in
Tbilisi. The United States is involved in and supports direct
Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations at the highest level, represented
by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor
Jake Sullivan. We are committed to ensuring a peaceful future in the
South Caucasus region," he said.
The diplomat believes continuous direct dialogue, that is, not
military action, but diplomacy, is key to resolving problems and
achieving lasting peace.
"We all realize that this is not easy, but I want to repeat the
observation of State Secretary Blinken during the meeting with
Foreign Ministers Mirzoyan and Bayramov. he said, "The United States
is committed to doing everything possible to support your efforts to
establish lasting peace," Mr Reeker stated.
